Every Day Peace

Most people have experienced crisis by the time they have reached adulthood and know that it can be both terrible and transformative. But transformation can happen before crisis.

When mediation is introduced in the early stages of conflict, the participants can feel the power of transformation as an agreement is reached. When a troubled youth sits in a restorative justice circle of impacted community members and victims and is held accountable for harm caused, all participants can experience transformation. Often these transformations ripple positively throughout our community–our homes, schools, neighborhoods, workplaces, and the justice system. The result is greater peace.

While transformation is the crux of our mission, at Resolve the path to peace is very pragmatic and tangible. Through restorative justice and mediation education in our schools and institutions, and resolution services for our communities, Resolve works for peace every day.

At the close of November, I will be asking you to give to Resolve. As winter approaches and you gather with family and friends to reflect and feel gratitude, I hope you will remember resolve and give what you can.

Warm and Peaceful Holiday Wishes to All,

“It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it.
And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.”
– Eleanor Roosevelt
