Give To Resolve

Dear Friend of Resolve,

I am writing to ask you to consider a tax-deductible donation to Resolve Center for Dispute Resolution and Restorative Justice. In this extraordinary year, up to 50% of your donation can be directed to the Phoenix-Talent School Fire Relief Fund in support of fire impacted families. As always, you decide how to direct your giving.

Why a 50/50 Campaign?

Last year, even with a school and court shutdown in the fourth quarter, our expert staff and volunteers provided mediation and restorative justice for 5,908 residents of Southern Oregon to help resolve conflict and to build and repair human relationship and community. We are a tough, resilient, and effective community organization.

It is true that Resolve was hit hard by the fallout of COVID-19, and is now like so many, on a path of rebuilding. In October, our mediators began the process of restarting small claims mediation with the Jackson County Circuit Court through remote mediation. Our very successful school-based restorative justice programming may have to wait for the resumption of on-site learning next year. Resolve’s partnership with juvenile justice remains strong and productive. “Community safety through restorative justice,” is now written into their mission.

However, in the face of this difficult time, Resolve remains doggedly committed to our community. The suffering of our friends and neighbors from the fire-ravaged cities of Phoenix and Talent calls us to action. We want to share the giving spirit of the Friends of Resolve with them this holiday season.

Resolve helps

Resolve works in partnership with our courts, schools and juvenile justice providing mediation and restorative justice services and skills.

Every week Resolve’s professional and volunteer mediators provide services to the people of Jackson and Josephine County and through the circuit courts for disputes of all kinds: from family, to neighborhood and business, to landlord/tenant.

In our schools, restorative justice offers an alternative to punitive, exclusionary discipline, and lowers the rate of disparate discipline meted out to students of color, disability and difference. A more just educational environment feels safer for all.

Through our partnership with juvenile justice, Resolve’s work impacts the school-to-prison pipeline. We provide at-risk youth and impacted victims with a program that has proven effectiveness.

I hope I can count on you to remember Resolve in your holiday giving this year, and be a part of building and sustaining a just and peaceful community for all.

Sending Peace and Gratitude,

Deltra Ferguson, Executive Director
