Dear Friend of Resolve,
I am writing to ask you to consider a tax deductible donation to Resolve Center for Dispute Resolution and Restorative Justice.
Last year our expert staff and volunteers provided mediation and restorative justice for 6,061 residents of Southern Oregon to help resolve conflict and to build and repair human relationship and community. Resolve works in partnership with our courts, schools and juvenile justice.
Every week Resolve’s professional and volunteer mediators are “bending the cost curve” by relieving over-burdened circuit courts in Jackson and Josephine County through mediation for small claims and FED (eviction) disputes.
Resolve helps our schools lower rates of suspension and absenteeism by using restorative justice to create a culture of accountability and belonging. This helps kids stay in school, make it to graduation, and become contributors to Oregon’s economy.
Restorative justice aligns with trauma informed practices by offering an alternative to punitive, exclusionary discipline, and by lowering the rate of disparate discipline meted out to students of color, disability and difference.
A more just and fair educational environment feels safer for all.
Resolve’s work also impacts the school-to-prison pipeline through our partnership with juvenile justice. We provide at-risk youth and impacted victims with a program that has proven effectiveness. The long term cost savings through reduced incarceration and criminal thinking and behavior cannot be overstated.
I hope I can count on you to remember Resolve in your holiday giving this year, and be a part of building and sustaining a just and peaceful community for all.
In Peace and with Gratitude,
Deltra Ferguson, Executive Director
